FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?

Direct Primary Care, or DPC, is a model of healthcare that puts patients first by getting rid of the red tape that constrains traditional practices. How? It’s simple: we don’t accept insurance, and –believe it or not – this actually saves you money in the long run!

How will this save me money?

Low monthly membership fee! Our memberships will also get you access to our Hormone Optimization and Medical Weight Loss Management too! (Labs, medications and supplements are extra.)
You’ll be able to avoid many visits altogether by sending your questions directly to us via email and text—something you won’t always get from a traditional practice.

Also, we’ve negotiated amazing deals for blood tests, X-rays, Ultrasound, CT and MRI scans on your behalf. If we had contracts with insurance companies, we would be legally obligated to charge higher prices!

More importantly, since you are getting all this fabulous care from us, you can cut way back on your insurance premiums. Most DPC patients find a high-deductible, low-premium insurance plan so they are covered in case of a major health issue. Affordable cost-sharing plans, such as "Medi-Share" plans are another way to have major medical expenses covered.

Will I benefit from Direct Primary Care even if I don’t require frequent medical attention?

Of course. Everyone benefits from a service tailored directly to them. That’s why we offer truly custom healthcare. We’re here for you if you’re sick or hurt, but we also help you proactively maintain good overall health. Every visit with us will be thorough and relaxed to address your health concerns. The longer you are our patient, the more we learn about your health and lifestyle and the better we can help you maintain your health.

The cost savings from seeing us versus one or two visits to the Urgent Care or Emergency Department from an abscess or laceration is a huge benefit. We can do minor in-office procedures such as stitches, abscess drainage, minor wound care, etc to help keep you out of the ER!

What about Major Illnesses and Major Injuries?

Major illness such as appendicitis, cholecystitis, heart attack, stroke, etc. and major injuries requiring surgery will obviously need care at the nearest Emergency Department and Hospital.

Do you bill my insurance?

No. This is a membership and fee-for-service practice. In traditional practices, billing insurance causes prices to be inflated (for multiple reasons). In part, eliminating insurance billing can reduce our overhead drastically and that translates to better prices for you. You CAN use your insurance for labs and radiology but remember, you will need to pay for any out-of-pocket expense that your insurance doesn't pay.

Can I be seen if I don’t have a membership?

YES. We have separate fee-for-service visit fees with lab and procedure fees that are very competitive to other local medical clinics. Enrolling will always be encouraged to help you save additional money!

Can I cancel my membership?

YES. Memberships can be terminated at anytime with a 30 day written notice and $100 cancellation fee. However, once a Provider has a full panel of patients it may be difficult to be re-enrolled with them since our Providers only accepts a limited number of patients in their panel. Re-enrollment will be assessed a non-refundable $150/patient fee and limited to one re-enrollment.
Part of what makes this style of service so excellent is fewer patients per Provider to allow for comprehensive, personal care of our patients. Spots are limited to maintain this level of care. Typical insurance-based practices will have 1500+ patients in their panel. Others around the country are even more packed with 3000-4000 patients! Our practice caps our patient panel to roughly 1/3 of the typical panel so we can focus on you!

What do I do if my Provider isn’t in?

No problem. In addition to keeping regular business hours, our members have access to HIPAA-compliant patient portals that allow for text, phone calls, email and video chat with their Provider per Provider's discretion and patient needs.

What does my membership pay for?

Your membership pays for the visit with the Provider. The two tiers offer additional discounts as well. Labs, Pathology, Radiology, IV Nutritional Therapy, IM Shots and Professional Grade Supplements are extra but at discounted pricing.

What if I need to see a Specialist or require services that you do not provide?

We can refer you to specialists just like any other Provider. If you have insurance, you may use it with them.

We’re excited to welcome you onboard!
Simple memberships: There are no hidden costs or complicated invoices that show up weeks later.
Transparent pricing: If you have questions, simply ask. We’re happy to assist!
